SURVIVING SAVANNAH is a novel based on the true story and discovery of the Pulaski, a luxury steamship nicknamed "the Titanic of the South" that went down off the coast of North Carolina in 1838, taking one hundred and twenty eight of Savannah's elites with it. Evelyn Winthrop, a history professor in modern day Savannah, Georgia, is tasked with curating an exhibit of artifacts from the wreckage, and her research leads her to discover that a family of eleven all boarded the ship together, and were forced to make hard and terrible decisions when the ship began to sink. This is a moving and powerful exploration of what women will do to endure in the face of tragedy, the role of fate, and the myriad ways we bear the unbearable.

PATTI CALLAHAN (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) is a writer's writer. She's published fifteen books, including many New York Times best-sellers, but this Homegirl (she lives in Mountain Brook, Alabama) is usually present when a visiting author comes to town. She supports the sisters and brothers of her craft and frequently promotes their books more heavily than her own. She is definitely the "Miss Congeniality" of the trade, and one of the most popular in the business. Thank you Patti Callahan for signing our books.
