HEMINGWAY IN LOVE: HIS OWN STORY was compiled from years of personal visits and tape recordings. Because of the very sensitive content, A.E. Hotchner's close friendship with Ernest Hemingway and consideration for the feelings of those involved, he waited fifty years to bring out the fascinating truth.
THIS COPY (shown below) was hand signed by A. E. Hotchner on the half title page at his home. It is a new, unread first edition opened only for signing and comes with a certificate authenticating the signature. Published in October, 2015 by St. Martin's Press, an imprint of Macmillan.
A.E HOTCHNER (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) was a playwright, screenwriter, novelist biographer and memoirist. He wrote seventeen books. While practicing law, Hotchner joined the Army Air Corps when World War Two broke out. After the war, he spurned law for the writing life. He met Ernest Hemingway in 1948, and they had a close friendship for thirteen years. His best known work, Papa Hemingway was published in 1961. He waited fifty years before sharing the intimate details of his friend's love life. He passed away at age 102, active writing and continuing the philanthropic work he started with his friend and neighbor, Paul Newman until his death. Their charities include The Hole in the Wall Gang, camps for underprivileged children. Their sites serve 13,000 children a year across America, Ireland, France and Israel. Thank you A.E. Hotchner for signing our books. R.I.P.
