THE WONDER begins with a Florence Nightingale-trained nurse going to an impoverished Irish Village to check on an eleven year-old girl who is said to have eaten nothing for four months.  The book eventually shows the intimacy between people from different worlds.

EMMA DONOGHUE (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) is a singular force on the world writing stage. Her books have been translated into forty languages and she has won a boatload of writing awards in many countries. She writes fiction, YA, history and short stories.
