CHARLES GAINES (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) is a homeboy whom we're proud to say we've hosted for every book he's written since we opened. He is one of the world's most respected Outdoors writers, serving on the board of directors of The Atlantic Salmon Federation. He was a finalist for the National Book Award for Stay Hungry, made into the movie of the same name that launched the career of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Amazingly, he is also co-inventor of the game PAINTBALL and wrote about it in Survival Games. Charles currently divides his time between his home here in Alabama and in Nova Scotia.
