FROM EVERY STORMY WIND THAT BLOWS is the genesis of what is now one of America's great private institutions of higher learning - Samford University. Founded in 1841 in a small Alabama frontier town and named for eighteenth century British reformer John Howard, early students gathered for a Christian liberal arts education. This comprehensive history chronicles the challenges the school faced from within and without, as well as the move to Birmingham and the eventual name change.
