SITTIN' IN is a collection of over two hundred amazing photographs taken in some of the finest jazz clubs of the 1940s and 1950s, along with insightful essays and descriptions of these night spots that paved the way for desegregation and the social change to come in the following decades. In addition, the book features many images of ephemera and memorabilia from the era, as well as exclusive interviews with figures like the legendary Quincy Jones, tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins, Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion critic Robin Givhan, jazz musician and creative director of the Kennedy Center Jason Moran, and jazz critic Dan Morgenstern.   This title has been selected as a Booksmith Timeless Classic, meaning it is among the best of the best for the last several decades. We will ship it free anywhere in the United States. You may view every Booksmith Timeless Classic by clicking https://www.alabamabooksmith.com/booksmith-timeless-classics.
